12 weeks and Margot finally let me babysit for more than an hour on Saturday as she took off and luncheoned with her Mother and Sisters-in-Law. I think I acquitted myself just fine - might have even earned a follow-up day-trip somewhere together down the line.. It was nice though to have some good bonding time - I hadn't seen my baby daughter much all week as I was hosting some Japanese guys for work and Evelyn had been hitting the hay before 8 every night. Momma wouldn't even let me wake her up in the middle of the night to say hi - I was lucky if I got to change her diaper in the morning!
After riding the ultimate emotional roller-coaster last week, Margot came to the decision that she wouldn't be returning to work other than to serve as a mercenary when called upon. We should be ok - just have to stick it out in the ghetto a few more years. By the way, Converse turns 100 this month - and it all started right here in Malden
So we had some other firsts today - Evelyn's first Dim Sum experience (also happened to be ours) was her first public eatery. By chance TJ and Lisa had invited us to a place the same day it was profiled in the Sunday Globe and it was packed - but Evie was cool the whole time! After we toured some burbs before heading over to Bouke and Amy's to celebrate Sydney's 2nd birthday - what a nice time! She got all dressed up in her first pair of tights and a brown felty dress courtesy of Aunt Lori - but then crapped them all up before we could snap off a proper picture..
