Happy Mother's Day!

Evelyn turned five months old on Friday and celebrated by surprising daddy at work that afternoon! She was all smiles up until the end when we crashed my group's meeting - but nearly an hour without whining at Nuvera must be some sort of record!
Then Saturday we were treated to a visit from Margot's Uncle Hans - coming over from Holland to check in on the comings and goings of the extended family, and I can't imagine that bannana-waffle brunch with Evie and Gigi wouldn't have been the highlight of the trip!

So Mother's Day finally arrived on this beautiful Spring morning and we all went for a nice hike up in the Fells - Evelyn saw two snakes, ducks, geese, a hawk and a bright orange Oriole! We grabbed some ice cream on the way home, and then gave Evie a treat too - her first food! Fortified rice mush - so I guess it wasn't a treat, but she didn't seem to mind it so much. Didn't exactly wolf it down, but it was a good start on this first Mother's Day - Mommy's Liberation Day!
