And.. we're back! Very sorry for the posting hiatus, but we felt that a lot of you were getting too dependent on your blog-fix cravings - it's not healthy! Hope you took the time off to get some rejuvenating R&R and are nice and refreshed - ready to read!
You haven't missed out on too, too much - but now looking back it does seem like a pretty busy month, with Grandma spending another week before heading back to Chapala, a final pre-baby-boy trip to RI, a quick visit from Uncle Ben, a BDay for Daddy, and Mommy fleeing to the Cape with the kid(s) for a week to escape the oppressive Triple-H of August that had to come sooner or later.
It took close-call hurricanes Billy-Boy and Danny-O to clear the air, but the weather feels just about perfect up here now heading into September - some relief for the prego! We're all enjoying the relative calm before the storm now, but eagerly awaiting the arrival of #2 - he's supposed to be joining us in just over three weeks now, but Evie was early so the Boy could be here before you know it!
Margot is packing her bag as we speak (or, as I write), and we finally decided to do something about getting another kiddie room set up this weekend - nothing major, just paint and stuff (while maintaining guest functionality) - but playing musical chairs with furniture and getting E's room transformed into Big-Girl Central! She's got a big bookcase (yes, triple-lagged), toddler bed and we even moved the iPod speakers in there to keep her boogying and drown-out newborn wailing.
We're not forcing her out of the crib yet, but she seems to like the idea of her own bed - and she's apparently totally down with the concept of having a little brother. Her Big Sister book is pretty powerful I guess, as is the accompanying 'pee and poop' tome - would using the potty in the next couple weeks be asking too much?
Probably, but aside from these coming momentous steps, Evelyn does seem to be maturing pretty quickly regardless - this beach-bunny is no longer afraid of the ocean, she's getting a couple inches of air now and although still not stringing too many words together, her vocabulary seems to double every week or so (inverse Moore's Law or something?) And of course - her playing singing, dancing and rough-housing is top-notch in my book. Too bad we're gonna have to completely ignore this little gem in a couple weeks!
