Happy Birthday Easter Bunny

Well that's what Evelyn is convinced Easter is all about - and that explanation works fine for me.
She ate her beautifully decorated eggs in the morning and then delivered this Easter 'basket' to her brother - complete with her baby ducky that she gave him. Oh what a nice sister she is.
Seriously - she is very nice to her baby brother Hendrik.

So Margot and I finally got an opportunity to reverse this 'incredible shrinking parents' trend that has been afflicting us - a double Easter Sunday in Jamestown and Hingham to hopefully pack on some of these disappearing pounds. It worked (at least it feels like it did this evening) thanks to some fabulous spreads courtesy of Aunt Helen and Aunt Cory and we tried not to play it off too much, but was difficult with egg-hunts, trampolines and knock-out to contend with. Good fun and an absolutely great day to welcome in spring!

And speaking of the weather - what was all this rain I heard so much about while I was in Wisconsin all week? I don't know what the big deal was - I got back and my grass is green and the house is still here. Well thanks to my Saintly wife of course - proving her Dutch roots with her excellent water management techniques to keep the basement dry while negotiating the two kiddos. And it seems like our Rhody friends are all bailing out and have some good dry-out weather at least. And just like in "O Brother..." - sometimes it takes a good flood to purge the clutter out. Useful for Stage-1 Hoarders like my Mother and me, and although it's rough that Tim's basement took on a whole bunch of water - it may turn out to have some redeeming value. At the least it's bringing them up for an unexpected emergency visit this week!
