Yes, this may be the last year that we can get by with wood toys (and plastic sleds) and nothing where batteries not included (or charged) could cause a major Christmas morning meltdown.
So it was all Peace & Tranquility as it should be with Evelyn learning how to cheat her Dad in CandyLand (3D!) while Hendrik was more than content snapping shut the empty Macy's jewelry box. Fortunately Margot liked the snowflake necklace from Evelyn, but the set that Daddy got her went back for a new convection/toaster oven. Her clothes are going back too - and considering that she opted for a dust-buster at the Yankme Swap, I would have fared better with cooking/cleaning gifts - but certainly excoriated for it.
ANd now a much-needed couple days snowed(and blowed)-in - we'd headed to an SK in Providence party Thursday, crashed in Jamestown and had a traditional Christmas Eve at Micheal and Helen's and then Christmas Dinner with the Noordzij's - pretty standard holiday fare/cheer, but a tad more exhausting with two still (yes still) in diapers (New Yrs Resolution Ms E?)
And now we have a week at home - let's see how much/little we can get done!
