We were there Saturday afternoon for our Infant CPR Training
* Newsflash *
American Heart Association now recommends 30 compressions for every 2 breaths for infants, children and adults alike - and for babies go ahead and do it for two whole minutes even before calling for help, unless someone else can call at the same time.
This will be in the quiz if you want to sit for little Baby X.
After a bunch of practice, we went over choking and then general baby safety stuff. Again it was recommended that we get our car-seat installation inspected by the Staties - I just puts ours in both cars earlier in the day and with the LATCH system they couldn't be easier - so maybe I'll put up a poll to see whether people think I should get it inspected. Anyone wanna put money on whether they'll find anything wrong with it?
If you'd read an earlier post, you might have seen that I had Margot move this class from last Sunday to avoid the Pats-Colts clash only to reschedule for the Illini-OSU game. Thankfully it ended early so we were able make our way to The Kinsale downtown - an Irish bar not in name only, but patronage as well - with all TV's tuned to the Notre Dame game. Unfortunately I didn't find out until after the first beer was ordered that all TV's were linked and couldn't be changed independently. As hilarious as it was that the Flailing Irish were getting blown out by Air Force and on their way to a 2nd consecutive loss to a Service Academy - you gotta admire these old fans that wouldn't let me change the channel despite all the mockery until they saw that the Illini had gone up by 7 at the half. I thought they might just play not-to-lose to the top-ranked team in the land, but man - that was a well-executed 2nd half there. Nice to have the tables turned and see how helpless the 100,000+ Buckeye fans were as we just ground them into submission. The Juice is Loose!
Game ended just in time to walk over to the Common to meet up with Keith and Dulari to see American Gangster - thanks to Fandango they were able to secure seats for us - unfortunately they turned out to be 2nd row and it wasn't the most comfortable viewing experience. But damn good flick! It's pretty high on our "movies to see in a theater before never being able to go to another movie again" list. Next week maybe Beowulf at Imax could join that list too..
No Pats game today - but got to walk over to the Malden Veterans Day Parade and salute some real Patriots. Chilly but sunny and still November Sunday here with Margot at Ana's shower - get to eat some grilled cheese and tomato soup while hanging out with the napping kitties before cleaning up the latest batch of huge Catalpa leaves to litter the front yard and then heading to the in-laws for dinner tonight
