Happy V.D.

Well obviously some VD's are happier than others.

This is a picture of my two Valentines with the Ghost Orchid that I somehow got hold of (the prized flower in feature film Adaptation of course). Just kidding - it's actually of the Costco variety, but nearly as hard to come by. Margot has not allowed me to set foot in the building for the last year after failing to indicate that I could show any restraint. But I gave her a much-needed gift of a few baby-less hours home alone, and I was granted temporary Costco-permissions on Saturday. I'm a little embarrassed to admit, but this was the first time that I'd taken Evelyn out shopping all on my own - I think because maybe Margot knew how much attention I'd garner. And woo-whee, boy-howdy! Those elder-lady sample-givers were all over us! We also stopped by the nearby Best Buy that opened two years ago that I still had not visited (whatta good boy) - just to see how the local economy was doing of course. Sure didn't seem to need to be stimulated on this day at least.. Nothing like a flat-screen on Valentines I guess!

So back at home, Margot had whipped up a romantic dinner and I threw on some Marvin Gaye and Isaac Hayes records onto the old turntable (thanks pa). Dessert time - following some Molten Chocolate Cake ***************CENSORED BY BLOGGER**********************

Ha ha - kidding again kids. Margot was probably in bed by 10 and I fell asleep on the couch watching the Slam Dunk competition. Pretty tame Valentines Day overall, but hey - it was probably better than Chris Brown and Rihanna's - ohh! No he didn't!

Back in Evelyn-land - it was a nice brisk Sunday today and with Momma out of the picture again we decided to take a walk across town over to TJ's. On a whim we decided to go grab some Pho - haha, what a bunch of Two-Men and a Baby looks we got! And then my neighbor Justin and friends showed up extremely coincidentally - so we had five dudes and Evie sitting 'round the table. Don't tell her Mom, but she got to sample some new flavors - including heat! What a classic reaction - it was brief pain, but with a look that showed that a whole new world was just opened up to her..

But on a more serious note - it is time for discipline. Evelyn refused so hard to get in her stroller (and the car seat the day before) with such amazing strong arching of the back. She understands NO, but not the consequences. Time for Timeouts? Suggestions at this tender age??

And congrats to Scott and Denise - yes there is a new Sheppie on the way..
