Time has flown here in Malden, trying to keep up with darling Evelyn- even in the pink crocs, she can still outrun me! We've had fun going on our morning adventures to the Lincoln Park and playground, where Evelyn always makes fast friends, rises to every challenge on the jungle gym, up every climbing surface: ropes, ladders and rockclimbing wall (in those crocs again!) and down every twisting slide and chute. Her most favorite thing to do though is dig in the dirt and mulch- both at the park and at home in the backyard. Reminds me of some little boys, long, long ago. But she sure loves to run! can't take your eyes off her for a second-off she goes...
Bath-time is hilarious as she just loves the water in her own tub- doesn't mind you pouring cupfuls of water over her head to wash her hair (she's not a wuss like her dad was, who needed to wear the "flower" shower cap to keep the water and shampoo out of his eyes). But take her out in the backyard for some good old watersprinkle time or play in a pool and you may have MA-CHILD Abuse officer at your door.
Today we visited the Boston Aquarium, surrounded by water, inside and out- and got to see the" neigh-neigh" Seahorses , Moon Jelly fish, sharks, lobsters, and much more-of course she was most interested in the other babies all around her-Miss Sociable-and, again, running up and down the ramps, with Daddy to chase after her.
Margot has opened up a whole new palet for my appetite since I've been here, making shrimp/bacon corn chowder, homemade granola to die for, blueberry-orange salsa over Belgian waffles -and Nate cooked up a great barb-que tonite-smorgasbord on the grill.
Oh-but how could I forget- Yesterday they took me for my grand inauguration to the wonderful world of IKEA! -my first trip to the Swedish minimalist shopping experience-never did I think it was going to be the total experience including not just shopping but dining a la Swedish delights-meatballs, lox and Lingonberry Juice. a fun day!
and now my week is coming to a close- I have to say my favorite part of the day is early morning when I get to hear Evelyn say "bye bye Daddy-Habagudday"- how cute is that? Evelyn is practicing her upcoming "Big Sister" role- with all of her stuffed animals, cooing to them, kissing them and shushing them to quiet down- she will be all set when in a few (10!) weeks, her baby brother arrives to steal some of the limelight. all for now-"Habagudweekevewybody"
