The gifts just keep a-coming! Evelyn gives us diaper-load after diaper-load of pure joy! She's starting to get better at this feeding thing and didn't fuss at all last night, making for a truly peaceful eve. We had a quiet 24th at home, but of course daddy waited until after midnight to do his wrapping so that he could finish off the nog while interspersing A Christmas Story and Bad Santa until 3am, as per tradition. An added late-night bonus was the ethereal Santa-Sleigh-quality snow-scape outside illuminated with bluish light in the starry sky by the nearly full moon. I brought Evelyn out to share with her but she didn't take much notice.
Despite staying on-guard so late, Sinter Klaas and Black Pietr managed to sneak in somehow while I dozed off and filled our stockings (sorry, no klompen) with oranges, nuts and diapers! We got Skyped in bed late this morning by Uncle Jake and Michelle from Ohio before having some holiday peppermint/nog spiked french toast. Now we're getting tidied up before our trip over to Oma & Opa's house for Christmas Dinner - where Evie gets to meet her four-day-elder cousin Gigi for the first time! Stat tuned for pictures and have a very Merry Christmas Day!
