Getting the Hang of It

Just jump on and rip the crap out of it, right? Not really - Evelyn likes to deconstruct piece by tiny piece. Fortunately we didn't have too much for her or it would have taken all day. As it was, we had to get over to Oma and Opa's for Christmas Dinner with the Noordzij Clan - what feast and festivity!
The funny story of the day though was that Margot and I had a Gift of the Maji experience of sorts. I'd wanted a kid seat for the bike last summer and the wife had gone and done some research on the best (safest) available. Of course I mistook her interest as a sign of desire and ta-da! We both bought each other the same gift! It was more appropriate coming from her, however - but it was nothing some gift cards couldn't take care of - it's not like she cut her hair off to buy me a watch or anything..

So, we made a little trip South in the days following and got to pop in on some Rhody friends and see Ben, Jenny, Elsie and Charlie while they were in the area. Ben's band (www.scottydont.com) had their debut CD release party at Lupo's and I got my advance copies special delivery in the mail - good stuff people - check it out! The kids are doing good and were thrilled to see cousin Evie up on her feet - pretty big changes in five months! And yes, I think we must officially declare that Evelyn is Walking - Walking into the New Year!
