That was fun!

Two weeks is up - daddy's gotta head back to work Monday morning! You could say there's some mixed emotions - it certainly has been nice to be home with the family, but enough is enough! In actuality, Evelyn is getting a little temperamental so it's probably best that we get back into somewhat of a normalized routine - as hard as that may be with Hendrik awaking frequently through the night and still requiring mucho attention. He's got some wicked back-flow problems, although that didn't prevent him from putting on over a pound in one week as documented at the 2nd Dr.'s office visit Friday - nice job Momma!

Opa earned some serious points over the last few days - spearheading the lingering project of rehabbing Hendrik's walls for us. There were cracks and gouges in the 120 yr-old horse-hair plaster and the weight of about 5 layers of paint and wallpaper was sagging in some areas - so we were at a standstill trying to decide the best course of action. But he came in and worked his magic - earning his spot alongside the rest of the Dutch Masters. The walls look good as new; however we couldn't decide on the ideal boys-room color palette and decided to just go with Evelyn's pale yellow - so the kids can flip back and forth with gender neutrality. So that's a big check off the list, although we're not setting the room up for H quite yet. Got a few months before we'll really need it so we're keeping the guest bed set up. That means come visit!Took advantage of the last day off to head to the Brooksby farm for the requisite spectacular autumn day apple picking / pumpkin patch / petting zoo experience. Hendrik wasn't all that into it, but Evelyn sure enjoyed herself - and was super proud to be sporting her new Pats gear from Grandma/Tim! Too bad they sported their throwbacks in the game later on - JINX
