Happy Girl!
We're getting a little worried about Evelyn as she approaches the 9 month mark - she's going to develop premature laugh lines. The girl just won't stop, and we hope she's not taking too many deductions from the Smile Bank - there's gotta be a finite supply right?
We're in full baby-proofing mode. It's scary how quickly Evie has started getting into everything - we thought we had all the ground-level stuff taken care of, but she can now pull herself up to a whole 'nother level. Just the other morning we were shocked (shocked!) to go into her room in the morning and find her standing in her crib rattling the railing! No - she's not self-supporting yet, but that seems like it'd be all the more dangerous, right?
And speaking of dangerous, we had our first Daddy-Drop this weekend. I like to have bouncy-baby time with Evelyn wrapped around Margot's yoga ball, but this time she pushed up at exactly the wrong time when the ball was rebounding, and it vaulted her upward and into a nice face-plant on the carpet. Fortunately babies in fact are made of rubber and she was fine, but put a good scare into her (and me). Hopefully Daddy learned his lesson, and Evie got a taste of what a good impact feels like - so maybe she won't keep trying to leap off the bed or down the stairs anymore. Not likely - in both cases..
